Chapter 125 Sarahpov.

The warm breeze hitthe second I stepped off the plane. It was a mix of salty ocean air and something sweet, like fresh fruit.

It was that smell I remembered so well, and it wrapped aroundlike an old, familiar blanket.

As I walked down the steps onto the tarmac, I couldn't help but smile. Mexico. I hadn't been here in months. I had missed it-the sights, the sounds, the feel of the place. But as much as I was excited, I was also a little nervous. I glanced at Richard, who was walking beside me. He was his usual calm self, hands in his pockets, a faint smile on his face. It was clear he was happy to be here, and I was glad to have him by my side.

Zoe had rushed back to the office for s'urgent work' so I decided to go to the office the next day, after making Zoe promise not to sopill the teas to the staff.

The next day.

"Okay, I know you're all excited to be here, but let's not forget why we're really here," I said, nudging Richard's arm.

He grinned at me. "I know, I know. You've got s'unannounced inspection' to do." I rolled my eyes. "Not an inspection, just a 'check-in."" I paused, then added, "Though, I can't say I won't enjoy watching the staff's reaction when I show up unexpectedly." Richard laughed. "You think they'll freak out?" "Definitely," I said with a grin. "You know Zoe's been holding the fort down, but they're probably wondering if I'm going to fire someone as soon as I walk through the door. I can already picture the looks on their faces." We both chuckled as we headed toward the waiting car. I leaned back in my seat as the car drove through the busy streets of Mexico City.

The city was alive, buzzing with energy. I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. It had been a while since I had seen the office or my team in person, and I was eager, but also a little unsure about how I'd fit back into the rhythm of things. The traffic was its usual chaos, but I didn't mind. I had missed this place-the hustle, the noise, the vibrant culture. It felt like home, in a way that nothing else could.

When we finally pulled up to the office building, I felt my nerves kick in again. I could see Zoe through the big glass windows, sitting at her desk.

She looked calm and composed.

I took a deep breath. "Alright, here goes nothing," I said, trying to sound more confident than I felt. Richard smiled. "You've got this." The moment I walked into the office, the usual hum of voices and clicking keyboards seemed to stop. The staff's eyes shifted toward me, sof them looking a little wide-eyed, like they couldn't believe I was actually there.

"Sarah?" One of the junior employees said hesitantly. "You're here?" I couldn't help but laugh. "Surprise!" I said with a wave, trying to sound casual even though I was secretly loving the reaction. "I just thought I'd stop by and see how things are going." Zoe was the first to stand up from her desk. She crossed the room quickly, and before I knew it, she was pullinginto a hug.

"I missed you," she said quietly, her voice warm. "Even though it was just yesterday." "I missed you too," I said, pulling back and looking at her. "You've been doing an amazing job holding everything together." Zoe smiled. "It's been tough, but we've managed. The team's been great." She glanced over at the others, who were still watching us with a mix of curiosity and relief.

I looked around the office, feeling a sense of pride. The place was running smoothly, just like I'd hoped, and Zoe had really stepped up. She'd kept the team motivated and the projects on track.

I felt a little guilty for stepping away for so long, but seeing the office in such good shape maderealize it had been the right decision to hand over the reins for a while.

"Alright," I said, taking a deep breath. "I'm not here to disrupt anything. I just wanted to check in, see how things are going, and make sure everyone's okay." Before I could say anything else, a wave of nausea hit me. I quickly pressed a hand to my stomach, feeling a little dizzy.

"Are you alright?" Richard asked immediately, his voice filled with concern.

"I'm fine," I said quickly, trying to brush it off. "Just a little... you know... pregnancy stuff." I smiled weakly. Zoe raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure? You look a little pale." "I'm fine," I repeated, though I was already regretting it. "I just need a snack. Something to settle my stomach." Zoe chuckled. "I'll see what I can find." She turned to one of the staff members. "Can someone grab Sarah something to eat? Preferably something light?" "Thanks, Zoe," I said gratefully, giving her a weak smile. "You're the best." I sat down at one of the conference tables, trying to focus on what was going on around me. The staff slowly returned to their desks, their chatter starting up again.

But I couldn't shake the feeling that I was out of the loop. I wanted to be involved, but at the stime, everything felt a little too overwhelming right now.

I looked at Richard, who was standing next to me, watchingwith concern. "I just... I feel like I've missed so much," I admitted in a low voice. "I want to jump back in, but I don't know where to start." "Start with taking care of yourself first," Richard said, givinga reassuring smile. "Everything else will clater." I nodded, though it didn't stop the nagging feeling in the back of my mind. I wanted to be the Sarah who could handle everything, but at that moment, I realized I couldn't. Not yet.

After a few hours at the office, we finally called it a day. I was exhausted, my stomach still a little unsettled, but I was happy to be here in Mexico.

Richard suggested we take a walk to clear my head, and I agreed. I needed a break from everything.

The evening air was cool but not cold, the perfect temperature for a stroll. As we walked through the busy streets of Mexico City, I felt the weight of the day slowly lift.

The sound of street vendors calling out, the vibrant colors of the market stalls, and the distant hum of music of music from a nearby cafe-it all felt like home. "You okay?" Richard asked, glancing at me.

"I think I'm starting to feel better," I said, breathing in the familiar smells of food and flowers. "Just needed a little tto adjust." He smiled. "You're doing great. You know, I think the office is in good hands. Zoe's really stepped up." "I know," I said, feeling a bit of pride swell in my chest. "I couldn't have asked for a better person to take over." We walked for a while longer, enjoying the quiet moments. As we passed a small cafe, I couldn't help but laugh.

"You know, earlier today I had this big 'inspection' plan," I said, grinning. "But in the end, I got distracted by M ve cravings and got sent on a mission for food." Richard laughed. "It's always the little things, isn't it? The inspection turned into a snack hunt." "Exactly," I said, squeezing his hand. "Maybe that's the secret to good leadership-finding the right snacks." Richard chuckled. "I think you've got it figured out."

We paused for a moment, just taking in the sights around us. Mexico had always been a place of peace for me, and tonight, it felt even more special. Despite everything going on, I knew that I was exactly where I was supposed to be. With him. "Thank you for being here with me," I said softly.

"Always," Richard replied, pullingcloser.
